Education

Jaimie received her Master and Bachelor of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. As a Geriatric Hartford Leadership Fellow, Jaimie had the opportunity work as a graduate intern at Northwestern University’s Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer’s Disease Center. During graduate school Jaimie researched the role of the School Social Workers in the intervention and service provision of grandparents raising grandchildren.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of IL

Jaimie received her LCSW in 2010 after two years of supervised clinical work. Professionals with LCSWs are trained to provide counseling or therapy to clients. Read more about what an LCSW is at this link.

Employment

For two years Jaimie worked with the Alzheimer’s Association, National Office counseling individuals online through the Online Community and developing educational materials for families in the community.

Currently Jaimie not only counselsclients in a private practice setting,  she also works full time as a Social Worker in the Northwestern University’s Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer’s Disease Center Neurobehavior and Memory Clinic. As the Resource Navigator Jaimie works with the medical team and meet with individuals and families living with dementia to improve patient  and family quality of life through resources, counseling, and supportive services.

Professional Development

Jaimie is active in a group for emerging professionals in the field of aging called the Chicago Bridge. From 2009-2011 Jaimie was the Communications Director and developed the Website and Blog for the group to share with a larger community the member expertise in the field. Jaimie has spoken at numerous conferences and community educational events on topics in Dementia Supportive Care.
